Izmir Conference Empty Izmir Conference

Post by Nayrin Sun Jan 19, 2014 1:45 am

Greetings members of the OTO, I have called for a conference in Izmir to discuss/ debate the OTO's future agenda in order to strengthen our ties as member-states!

We, the members of the Oriental Trade Organization, wish to establish strong regional economies and jointly pursue prosperity and security in our time. Therefore, in order to achieve harmonious economic relations, we should endeavour to examine the potential for the following and more among member-states:

1) An effort to increase inter-state investment in one another’s economies, subject to and respectful of the sovereign laws and principles of states in the Orient.

2) Identify key markets where said investment may take place (here’s where our economic profiles come in handy!). We should also identify raw materials or energy projects we might endeavour to collectively build.

3) Explore the establishment of a common currency for use solely between OTO members, known as the Oriental Yuan (or Orient for short).

4) Sign a treaty involving sea-based trade, security and tourism (as our borders are primarily water-based).
Through this summit, hoping for subsequent ones each chaired by a member of the OTO, we hope to create a joint statement which pleases all members and exemplifies the economic prosperity of our states and the OTO as a whole.

Please share your ideas/ criticisms and once we feel we have a sufficient plan in mind, release said statement.

The Kyongdongese Delegate arrives, even though the Red Government of Madame Chairwoman Hoàng Hậu and the KCP was socialistic and was opposed to the free market they new Nayrin was an amazing trade partner, and they new that they could benefit from OTO amazingly. So they had not withdrawn, now they planned to be even more involved than ever.

Nayrinese delegates were pleased to greet their allies from Kyongdong, well aware of reservations regarding "free trade". The new government in Kyongdong had drawn controversy but Nayrin was keen to establish normal relations immediately and pleased to hear feelings were mutual.

"Our goal, friends, is not the establishment of a free market. Though we have experimented with liberal economics, we also understand the strength in self-interested economic protections like nationalizing industries. We keep our automotive industry under keen observations and regulate it."

"Instead, we aim to build a strong economic and political bloc within the region. While our political alliances are firm in the form of the People's Party of Nayrin, we desire closer and efficient economic relations. We look forward to future discussion and suggestions at this conference!"

Izmir Conference Empty Re: Izmir Conference

Post by Nayrin Sun Jan 26, 2014 5:19 am

Following a period of discussion within their separate chambers, the Nayrinese delegation offered up a potential accord for approval by their friends from Kyongdong:

COGNICANT of the need for a strong economic bloc in the Orient which represents significant economies in the region and a desire to act collectively on issues of energy, trade and justice

DETERMINED to create a climate for partnership through trade, regulated investment and shared goals

STRIVING for a healthy future for signatories and their citizens in the face of a growing and, at times, tumultuous region.

In the interest of economic partnership, members present and future enter the following agreement – the OTO 7-Point Accord:

1. To harmonize our imports and exports, providing one another with mutually advantageous trading opportunities and cooperation for key resources.

2. The construction of shared pipelines, railways and other methods of energy transportation for raw material refining and exchange of goods.

3. Provide opportunities for investment in industries approved by each state, respecting protected industries as out of bounds and operating under the laws of each sovereign state. Economic equality and mutual advantage should be guiding principles of this accord.

4. In the interest of fair competition the use of a harmonized currency, the Oriental Yuan, will be encouraged specifically within members of this agreement and future OTO member-states. In order to accomplish this, the OTO will establish the OTO Bank for the purposes of development, minting this new currency, trade and economic growth among membership.

5. Mutual cooperation within technology-related sectors ( information, energy, weapons development) and joint research initiatives between states through university programs, the public sphere and some participation from the private sector.

6. While respectful of the fundamental tenets of the Navigable Waters Treaty, signatories will endeavour to relax tariffs and transporting regulations through their state’s body of water to ensure more harmonious trade.

7. Endeavor to collectively combat social injustices and poverty, promote cultural understanding and tourism between states while pressing collectively for peace between partners of the OTO and the Oriental region as a whole.

Sure, we'll certainly need another if membership grows! Could be a fun little RP leading to a sizeable economic/voting bloc (though we are different parties with different goals Razz ).
